Here is “The Golden Hour.”
I have been incorporating sunbursts and camera lens flares into my landscapes for the past few years. I’m interested in how much of our lives in the age of ubiquitous photography and screens is viewed through the eye of a camera.
I have always loved the beauty of the natural world of trees and sky, with the endless possibilities of shapes and textures.
I have always loved finding the limits of color and using color in unconventional ways.
I’ve always loved blurring the lines between realism and abstraction.
And with the sunbursts and lens flares, I love the dramatic contrast of dark and light, and the “wow factor” of feeling a bit dazzled by an image.
This dynamic painting includes all of these loves in one image.
The painting continues around the 2.5″-deep edges of this cradled wood panel.
This sunny, bold painting has a big presence.
