Summer Light: A painting of sunlight in a Pacific Northwest forest.
Summer Light, 12″ x 48″
Summer Light was inspired by the Pacific Northwest rainforest in Portland, Oregon.
This location is very close to my home, and is a trail that I return to regularly on hikes with my dog. In this forest, Douglas fir trees are interspersed with big leaf maple trees.
The bright glowing light coming through the leaves of the trees is something you can catch in the early evenings of the long days of summer.
In August, the wild blackberries are there for the picking, and there’s a sense of expansive freedom in this place.
The maple leaves, with their distinctive shapes, fill this painting with fresh bright greens.
This painting will bring a peaceful and joyful feeling to any space. Just looking at it encourages you to take a deep breath.
