In “Redwoods and Ferns 1,” the foreground is dominated by the trunk of a giant redwood tree.
This tree curves in an interesting way as it reaches so high up into the sky.
The sun peeks through the foliage from the center of the painting, and bright white sunlight softens the edges of the trees with its glow.
The scale is 36″ x 12″.
Mockup of this artwork in an interior space:
This original acrylic painting is based on a photo I took on a recent trip to the redwood forests in Jedediah Smith Redwood State Park in California.
In this location, besides the ancient coastal redwood trees, you can also find rhododendrons along the trails, as well as carpets of huge ferns on the forest floor.
This artwork features the dramatic play between light and shadow.
With its vertical format and medium size, this art is perfect for filling a spot where you have a tall, narrow wall.
Looking at this painting is like looking through a window into the forest, bringing the beauty of nature indoors!
