This painting, called “Night Tree,” shows the lovely, strong shape of a solitary Douglas fir mostly cloaked in darkness. The beautiful gradient of cloudy colors in the background ranges from violet and orange-red on the left to blue-gray tones on the right.
This art is inspired by Mt. Tabor Park at night. The vague shapes of the trees in the darkness are barely illuminated by the warm glow of street lanterns sprinkled through the park.
