This collection of colorful sunshine tree paintings bring the beauty of nature to any interior space.
Each of these paintings will bring a pop of color and the warm feeling of sunshine to any wall that needs it.
Wild Rhododendron 2
This painting is a variation on my previous painting Wild Rhododendron.
This tall and narrow version focuses on the sun shining through the two large tree trunks.
The rhododendron leaves are lit up brightly in the foreground.
Light Scatter
In this painting, I play with the effect of white light scattering into many colors.
Orbs created by a camera’s lens flare fill the foreground.
An interesting painting, this is simultaneously an image of a sunny day in the woods, and an abstract paintinng exploring light and color!
Sunshine Calls
This painting was inspired by the jungle in Costa Rica.
Much of the canvas is filled with bright white sunlight.
This painting is titled “Sunshine Calls” because it evokes a feeling of longing for the warm tropical sun.
Every part of the painting is filled with abstract shapes and bold, bright colors.
Sunlit Rhododendron: Orange
This painting is a variation on my previous painting, Sunlit Rhododendron.
In this version, the whole image is filled with warm orange colors.
This painting is perfect for a room that needs to be brightened with a sunny pop of orange.
A warm and sunny mood emanates from the image.
Orange Red Forest
The sun shines through the tree trunks, filling the whole painting with warm red and orange colors.
I painted this from the same photo I took in the woods near my home as my previous painting “Light Between Trees.”
But the choice of colors in this painting give it a unique mood.
The rich, bold colors will lift your spirits.
This painting looks amazing as a statement piece from a distance.
Mt. Tabor Majesty
Mt. Tabor Majesty is a painting of the beautiful douglas fir trees in Mt. Tabor Park in Portland, Oregon.
I have spent many happy hours in this park, so it’s a very special location to me.
Do you notice the sunlight shining through the tree branches in the shape of a heart?
In the distance, the hills are a soft pink.
Up close, the painting is extremely abstract.
The glittering light and high contrast in this painting will add a bold, dramatic look to your room.
Sunny Memory
This painting is based on some huge trees I visited in a public park in Auckland, New Zealand.
The thick tree trunks at the bottom move up into the bright sunlight which dominates the top of the painting.
This painting brings memories of being a child climbing big trees, with the sun shining down and warming your body.
With the color palette of dark brown and light blue, this painting will look great in a place with wood floors.
Mt. Tabor Sunset
This is a painting of a spectacular sunset filling the sky behind the silhouettes of tall douglas firs in Mt. Tabor Park in Portland, OR.
Little spots of white sunlight glitter and sparkle like diamonds through the tree branches. The twinkling light is almost blinding, and gives an impression of movement, as if the light is really shifting within the painting.
The soft pink, peach and blue tones in the background glow brightly against the black of the silhouetted tree.
Neighborhood Sky
A sunset with similar colors to the ones in Mt. Tabor Sunset, this painting is called “Neighborhood Sky.” In this painting, fluffy white clouds drift all the way up from the setting sun at the bottom, through orange and pink streaks in the sky to the blue at the top.
The branches of the tree directly in front of the sun are lit up in colors of bright orange and red.
Soft pink light surrounnds the delicate spear of the treetop high in the sky.
Oregon Summer
This painting gives the feeling of a summer road trip through Oregon. Brilliant sun shines down over enormously tall trees.
The sunlight scatters into a circular rainbow.
An unexpected bright magenta fills the center of the painting. Up close, the painting is abstract.
This art is a celebration of happy, sunny days.
Designed to perfectly fill a narrow wall where other art sizes won’t fit, each of these paintings is 36″ x 12″.
These paintings are available as originals and as prints. Don’t hesitate to ask me any questions about them!
