“Alone in the World.”
The Tree of Life reaches out in every direction, the symbol shown here in its totality. An utterly dramatic, gigantic full moon rises directly behind the tree.
White mists curl delicately as they move in a circle around and behind the branches of the tree. The tree roots grow down between gold stones underground in the deep red earth.
And this person leans against the tree trunk, perched on top of a giant root at the base of the tree, and gazes out into the light of the moon, and the misty air moving through the blue sky.
(She?) is alone, both in this picture and in the sense that each of us is alone in our bodies and our lives. As alone as it’s possible to be when you are part of all of life, one of many beings.
I imagine the person is feeling the solemn weight of being alone, but also the freedom in it. She is feeling the personal responsibility and the empowerment that come with having your own set of senses, your own unique brain and experiences, and your own future laid out before you.
Alone, but also In the World.
